[Suggestion] Manually including excluded folders in search

Post by Coldblackice »

It would be great if there was a way to override folder exclusions.

For example, the majority of the time I don't want "FileHistory" folders included in my searches. However, occasionally I do want to search that folder. It would be great if there was a way to override an excluded folder from the search bar, such as when using a path-search parameter like "\FileHistory" or perhaps a double-backslash "\\FileHistory" overrides exclusions. Or having a switch available that can override exclusions, such as "!exc".

This is what Temporary Excludes sets out to do.

To toggle temporary excludes:
  • In Everything, from the Index menu, click Enable Temporary Excludes
    -or-
  • Right click the status bar and click Enable Temporary Excludes
I have put on my TODO list: Add a search function to enable/disable the temporary exclude list.
Thank you for your suggestions.
