As I just see the update check never did work obviously, I have this version:
And this is shown:
Or am I missing anything? Does the check of the new version work?
Update check does not work?
Re: Update check does not work?
*Technically* the update mechanism works as designed.
Take a look at this thread to see why you don't see the newer versions in the update check.

Re: Update check does not work?
Ah yes, thank you very much.
I am not sure to understand why that is like it is, but so the check works properly anyway. So if there is a big (enough) update it will be prompted.
Many thanks again.

It is interesting that we receive different update messages for the same version, i.e. 1.4.1.935 (x64).
EDIT: The reason is the entry beta_updates=1 in Everything.ini.
For language "German" I get this message:
"Version 1.4.1.992 is available ... Would you like to download it now?"
If I install version 1.4.1.992 (x64) portable, I also get "Everything is up to date".
By the way, the current version is 1.4.1.999 and was announced as the public version
(available since 25.11.2020 21:47 - not yet classified as "Public release" here).
Everything.ini
EDIT2:
The version 1.4.1.1000 Beta Nightly Build is now available (27.11.2020 20:54).
EDIT3:
Everything 1.4.1.1000 "Public release" (30.11.2020)
I think it is advisable to check the websites regularly for updates,
because in the event of a bug, an update is usually provided within a very short time.

Re: Update check does not work?
Forgive me, but having the update check report no updates, but the homepage report - without any sort of qualification - a newer version . . that combination of states of affairs seems, at best, confusing and, at worst, stupid.

Here you can read more about the reasons why.
