Question

Post by Stamimail »

Hi guys,
I took my time today to reply to a topic.
https://i.snipboard.io/356uzf.jpg

but few minutes after I replied I discovered that this topic removed from forum website.

I searched the forum and discovered that this topic is really doubled from an old topic.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8977

What is this phenomenon?

It was a spammer.
Not yet an active one, but that was only a matter of time.

He (or she) caught my eye because I recognized that exact same text from an earlier thread (link).
I checked his IP-address on the StopForumSpam website.
Turns out to be a known spammer, so I posted a message that this was a spammer and I would remove the entire thread (in the hope that you and the others would read it before I actually removed the entire thread).

And that is what happened :)

What is the motivation of a spammer with this type of spams?

Usually to push their website higher up on search engines, such as Google.

Sorry to delete your reply mentioned in the original post.
I'll keep replies to spam-bots from now on.

I heard about SEO. I don't realize how this type of spam helps someone. There are no links..

The links are usually hidden or added by the spam-bot at a later date.
