Problem with New window hotkey + German keyboard

Post by gagagoogoo »

Hi,

I love Everything and use it every day. I have Windows 7x64 (US version but with German keyboard and German keyboard layout). For an illustration of a German keyboard, please see http://carbon.cudenver.edu/~tphillip/Ge ... ayout.html.

This is my problem: in order to type a Euro sign (€) I have to press Alt Gr (right Alt key) + E. But I've got E set up as Everything's New window Hotkey key and Ctrl+Alt as the New Window Hotkey Modifier. So Everything should only open when I press Ctrl+Alt+E. It does however open when I press Alt Gr (right Alt key) + E. E as in Everything is the only modifier that makes sense but if I choose it I cant't type any Euro signs ...

Could Everything be more strict when using a non-US keyboard?

This is a limitation with the Windows HotKey API.

Alt Gr maps to Ctrl + Alt (with no distinguation between left and right Alt/Ctrl).

I am considering the option to ignore the hotkey press if the Right Alt (Alt Gr) key was used.
However, this is not 100% accurate.

Are there any updates on this issue? Everything hasn't been updated in the meantime, right?
