same search different results

"Everything" is AMAZING and my sanity depends on it <3

win 10 w latest updates

okay, so i have this exact folder on my F drive:
"_Amri_GETOUT"

but when I search for "amri", it will not show me any files or folders that have the underscore "_" in the filename.
So, I am missing results from hundreds of files and a few folders with 400+GB of data with the name "_AMRI_XXXXXetc"

So, I searched for "_amri_getout", and the files/folders that match that search obviously came up right away.

But why isn't my search for "amri" also showing ALL files/folders that contain the word "amri" within all file-names?

I've tried modifying search syntax but I can't get "amri" searches to show any "_amri_XXXXetc" results.

I hope this is purely user error on my part!

well, it looks like from reading another thread about the Advanced Search feature, which i didnt know about, i was putting a space between the : and the word.

searching "nowholeword:amri" gave me all the results i was looking for. obviously same goes for "noww:amri" as the abbreviation is much easier to search with.

user error indeed!
