Hide file AND folder Shortcuts?

I have tried everything to get "everything" to not show .INK files and folders in the results ? I had it set in the past and now cant seem to get it to work. Vista64
I don't need to see any shortcuts.

Try it with searching for:

!ext:lnk

("!" means NOT; for more search suggestions (and there are many!), see: https://www.voidtools.com/support/everything/searching/ )

P.S. If you want a more permanent solution, you can create a filter (Menu:Seach > Organize Filters) with that search query and call it something like MyDefault (or any other name you like).
You can make that your default filter in Menu:Options > Tools > General > Home:
Filter: MyDefault
When that filter is active, you will no longer see .lnk files in the result list.

Bonus tip: enable Menu:View > Filters to see the filter in the top right corner of the EVerything Window (you can move it to the top left corner if you like that better)

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Exclude tab on the left.
• Change Exclude files to:
  *.lnk
• Click OK.

BTW: Excluding files has some (little) side effects. For example the

empty:

function will report a folder as empty, even if there are .lnk files in it (Everything is no longer aware of those).

P.S. Don't pay attention to the enormous fonts (if thats possible ). That's an experiment ..
