With each request to the ETP server the current sort is lost.

I too can confirm the issue.

I have on my TODO list: etp client request is fast sort

For a work around, please try enabling always keep sort:
In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/always_keep_sort=1

Note: make sure you sort by something that is fast! Otherwise Everything will take forever to perform searches!
