How could one make Everything index the My Book Desktop 8 TB:
https://www.wdc.com/products/external-s ... 80HBK-NESN
https://www.amazon.de/My-Book-Desktop-T ... B01LWVT81X
The drive is not (automatically) added to the index, it is not indexed.
My Book Desktop 8 TB not added to the index?
Re: My Book Desktop 8 TB not added to the index?
Reviews here, https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6822235160, mention "exFAT".
Everything deals (directly) with NTFS, but should be able to search (not as efficiently) by using a Folder Index.

Re: My Book Desktop 8 TB not added to the index?
Thank you very much!
The drawback seems to be that Everything does not automatically update a folder index when a drive is plugged in, so one has to do it manually, I guess. I am wondering why it is not possible? I would think, when It is abel to monitor a drive it should be able to automatically update / scan a drive when plugged in, but obviously it is not like that.
And why does one have the option to add a time period for rescanning when Everything monitors the drive anyway.

I have those settings now:
Everything does not automatically rescan (every 1 minute) and not monitor the drive Z:. And when I click "Rescan now" nothing happens. What could I do to make it work?
Should one activate "Rescan on full buffer" to not to miss any file? Does it take much longer to rescan on full buffer?
