external usb-drive

Post by gooly »

Hi,
Version 1.4.0.713b (x64) is running as service. Then I connected my external usb-drive to do the weekly backup.
As I want to remove this usb again it isn't possible as Everything was started a 2nd time with option -startup and (therefore?) I got the message device cannot be removed. After I killed Everything with the option -startup Windows let me kindly remove it.

It could be that "Everyting -startup" was started (beside "Everyting -svc") a couple of hours ago due the restart of my pc because of the Windows-patchday-update - I can check that only next month.

Thanks for the bug report

"Everything -svc" should be the process that opens and manages handles to devices.

Would you mind running Everything in debug mode and reporting what is displayed in the debug console after trying to safely remove the USB device?
  • In Everything, press Ctrl + ~ to show the debug console.
  • Try safely removing the USB device.
  • What is displayed in the debug console?
