Removing or Hiding File Menu
Is there a way to hide or remove the File, Edit, View, etc. menu?

Re: Removing or Hiding File Menu
i would also like to know if such an option could be implemented
an option to completely modify the menu buttons and menu items (including removing, renaming, adding, moving)
there are lots of menu items that i never use:
1) new search window
2) open file list
3) close file list
4) close (i use num5 which is equivalent to alt+F4 in my win xp)
5) export
6) open (i use single click or enter)
7) open path (i use num- which is set to 'open path' in my ET)
8) explore path (i use context menu of ET)
9) copy full name to clipboard (instead i use very good 'path copy copy' program and its items: copy name; copy path; copy path, name)
10) create shortcut
11) delete (i use 1 of 2 'delete' buttons on a keyboard)
12) rename (i use F1 which is equivalent to F2 in my win xp)
13) properties (i use 'pause/break' button which is equivalent to alt+enter in my win xp)
14) read extended information
15) exit (i use num5 which is equivalent to alt+F4 in my win xp)
16) cut (i use F10 which is equivalent to ctrl+x in my win xp)
17) copy (i use F9 which is equivalent to ctrl+c in my win xp)
18) paste (i use F11 which is equivalent to ctrl+v in my win xp)
19) select all (i use F4 which is equivalent to ctrl+a in my win xp)
20) invert selection (i use F6 which is equivalent to 'invert selection' in my win explorer and in my ET)
21) preview (it does not preview txt and cue formats in my win xp so i don't need such an option at all)
22) extra large thumbnails
23) large thumbnails
24) medium thumbnails (i never use thumbnails, i'm sure they are completely useless)
25) window size
26) zoom (zoom in, zoom out)
27) on top (i use 'num lock' button which is equivalent to toggling 'on top/not on top' in my win xp)
28) match diacritics
29) connect to ETP server
30) disconnect from ETP server
31) file list editor
32) everything help
33) command line options
34) everything website
35) check for updates
36) donate
37) about everything
besides, all main menu separators should be movable and removable
this only my opinion but i think that those who want to visit the main site or to donate or to check for a new version, may easily do it without the main menu
(for example, by adding a bookmark to a browser)

Re: Removing or Hiding File Menu
Sorry, but no one forces you to hit buttons or use menu entries you don't need.
Toolbar customization is already promised from the author.

horst.epp, your response is not polite and adequate as it could have been. by the way, nobody except you speaks about toolbar in this topic
i also wasn't speaking about any kind of "forcing somebody to do something"
my only intention was to show that the idea of manipulating the main menu is more or less important and to detailly explain why

Re: Removing or Hiding File Menu
Currently theres no way to edit / customize the menu bar.Is there a way to hide or remove the File, Edit, View, etc. menu?
I have plans to add full toolbar customization in Everything 1.5. I will review full menu customization in Everything 1.5 also as these are closely related.
