Dear support team,
I am having a problem with the network drive disconnecting intermittently that interrupts the indexing process.
The experience I had was that when using the "Rescan Now" (located in Indexes > Folders), in some cases a smaller number of files than the previous reading was identified, as if the entire process had been restarted from the beginning.
I would like to know about the possibility of continuing the indexing process where it was stopped due to a possible disconnection of the network drive.
Current situation: Too many files on the network connection, the indexing process starts and stops due to connection loss and then restarts from the beginning. In other words, I cannot complete the indexing process.
Best regards,
Roberto Cruz
Resume network drive indexing process
Re: Resume network drive indexing process
What version of Everything are you using?
Everything 1.5 will keep retrying to rescan your network drive on disconnect for up-to one minute.
For Everything 1.4 and Everything 1.5, instead of indexing \\server\share I recommend indexing:
\\server\share\subfolder1
\\server\share\subfolder2
\\server\share\subfolder3
...
With Everything 1.5, under Tools -> Options -> Folders
For each network share, right click -> Advanced -> Threads -> Check Multiple threads
This will greatly improve network indexing performance.

Re: Resume network drive indexing process
I am using the following version: Everything-1.4.1.1026.x64-Setup.
One minute is too short a time to identify the disconnection and start the connection process. This would require me to spend hours following the entire indexing process.
I already had this idea of subfolders in mind. However, there are a lot of subfolders and this takes time.
Thanks for the information and guidance regarding version 1.5.
I will try to solve the network disconnection problem. If I can't solve it, I will try these guidelines from version 1.5 using subfolders.
