Complete Word

Everything 1.5.0.1384a adds a Complete Word feature.

The following items are completed:

• Indexed paths
• Search Functions
• Search Modifiers
• Search Commands
• /Settings
• Filter Macros
• Bookmark Macros
• Macros
• Indexed roots

To complete words:

• Press Ctrl + Space

For example:
Type in:

C:\Pro

Press Ctrl + Space
The following options are listed:
C:\Program Files
C:\Program Files (x86)
Press \ or Right arrow key or ENTER to complete the word.



If you import your settings from Everything 1.4, Ctrl + Space will continue to show search history.

To set Ctrl + Space to complete words:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
• To the right of Show commands containing, search for:
  complete
• Select: Search Edit | Complete Word
• Click Add....
• Press Ctrl + Space and click OK.
• Click OK.

To set Ctrl + Space to show the search history: (Everything 1.4 style)

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
• To the right of Show commands containing, search for:
  complete
• Select: Search Edit | Auto Complete Search
• Click Add....
• Press Ctrl + Space and click OK.
• Click OK.
