When a file is dragged over a folder in the folder bar, the target folder for the drop is hidden by the dragged item.
When the Folder bar is wide, this can be worked around by dragging to the target line but to the right of it (when bar is on the left). However when the Folder Bar is narrow this isn't possible.
There's also a small popup that mentions the target which is good, however it's the nature of human psychology that it would be better for the target folder to remain visible when dropping because that is what one is focussing on for actioning the drop.
* I suspect one way to do this is to make the dragged item fairly transparent - I couldn't spot a transparency item for this. Another idea is for the dragged item to appear under the text (z-index) rather than over it. Or the dragged item could appear fully on the right of the cursor (when folder on left) rather than having the picture horizontally centred around the cursor. Perhaps it could become small or simpler. It may be having the dragged item on the cursor edge appropriate to the Folder Bar position would be an easy solution?
Perhaps there's a way to achieve this already?

Dragged Items Obscure Folder Bar Target
Re: Dragged Items Obscure Folder Bar Target
Please try the two drag image modes:
The Everything drag image will likely make this worse (harder to see under the items)
The default system drag image should be relatively clear directly under the cursor so you can see the drop location.
- In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Advanced tab on the left.
- To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
drag - Select: system_drag_image
- Set the value to: true/false
(when disabled, Everything will use its own drag image) - Click OK.
