filelist editor --- network drive

Post by fpefpe »

Hello --- I was trying to build a "filelist" using the filelist editor of a network drive. I mapped the drive as Q: but it does now show up in the "add folder" option in the pop-up menu --- what strange about this is that the other mapped drivers are in the list -- what did I miss here? Thanks

Does Windows Explore see the mapped letter?

Are you running Everything "as Administrator"?
Mapping is done on the user level.
So if you mapped as user fpefpe, then run Everything "as Admin", Admin would not see that mapping (by default).

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

I am using the portable version --- is %appdata% still used in the case?

It's optional.

Please make sure Everything has write permission to the same location as your Everything.exe if you disable Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.

thanks for the info --- is the numeric value in the filelist the create and modified time, for the file? If its value UTC not local time?

The value is a FILETIME

It is the number of 100-nanosecond intervals since January 1, 1601 (UTC).
