Re: What USN file size would you suggest?
Moved from What is this "Enable USN Journal" for?
Maximum size: 131072 KB
Allocation delta: 8192 KB
The defaults are typically:
Maximum size: 32768 KB
Allocation delta: 8192 KB
For Allocation delta: Yes
Using a really large allocation delta may cause the NTFS driver to become unresponsive while the USN Journal is trimmed after it is filled.
Please keep the allocation delta around 8192 KB.
To recreate the USN Journal:
Uncheck Enable USN Journal in Everything, hit apply, then re-check Enable USN Journal with the new sizes and hit OK.
The Index Journal is a copy of your USN Journal.
For Everything 1.4, there is the recent changes database.
Enable recent changes from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Index recent changes
Load your USN Journal into the recent changes index from Tools -> Options -> NTFS -> C: -> Load USN Journal into the recent changes database.
Show the recent changes column from right-clicking the result list column header and checking Recent Changes.
You can then sort by this column.
I recommend the following sizes for Windows 10 and 11:what USN file size would you suggest?
