Hi, when I connect some external hard drive (not ssd) with lot of documents, the indexing takes a lot of time and I don't even want it, just normal indexing of files.
Is there a possibility to auto-block/exclude content indexing from external drives?
How to block content indexing from external drives?
Re: How to block content indexing from external drives?
By default, there is no content indexing at all !
So you must have defined it itself.
Change the settings to only include files from certain full paths.
And of course only for as less as possible file types.

Set to include only certain folders.
Better set to exclude folders from your external drive x:\ for example.

Ok, looks like adding include only main disk partitions do the job

Similar issue. Do you know how to set the program to not index external drives at all?

Setting "Include only folders" will index only those folders.Similar issue. Do you know how to set the program to not index external drives at all?
All other folders will be excluded.
The easiest option is to specify which drives you to index with "Include only folders".
Just don't include any external drives.

Where is this option? I don't mean content index.

To prevent Everything from index new volumes:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the NTFS tab on the left.
- Uncheck Automatically include new fixed volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically include new removable volumes.
- Click OK.
