Hi. Is it possible to make Everything not do one of those built-in actions? Escape undoing cut to clipboard is a pain in the butt for me. It makes it so I have to cut, change windows to where I want to paste it and paste, then come back to close the Everything window. :xvoid wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 7:45 pm Pressing the Escape key will do the following built-in actions before your custom action is executed (File | Close)
Was Everything doing any of the above when you pressed the escape key?
- Cancel the middle mouse button scroll.
- Cancel the Jump to buffer (typing in characters into the result list).
- Cancel mouse capture.
- Clear any files/folders Everything has put on the clipboard.
- Cancel a search.
- Cancel a sort.
- Leave fullscreen mode.
If Everything fails to close after pressing Escape key, does pressing the Escape key again close Everything?

Re: Escape undoing cut to clipboard is a pain
Moved from ESCAPE key does not always exit Everything
I recommend closing the Everything window with Alt + F4 or Ctrl + W
ESC will not close the Everything window in future versions by default.
Everything 1.5 will have the option to disable the cancel action on ESC:
