I have some 4-5 external drives and pen drives.
Every time I plug them, Everything scans them automatically.

However it shows all of them as f:\...... when they are offline.
So I can't tell which one is being displayed in results.

Is it possible to have Volume name reflect somewhere ?

Also there are times I do not want some of them to show in results, so it is possible to disable them (without losing the data so that they can be enabled again later)?

I am not looking for exclude parameter in search string but some way where they can be turned off until either they are enabled again or plugged in.

Please try adding the Index Volume Name column:

• In Everything 1.5, right click the result list column header and click Add columns....
• Search for: label
• Select Index Volume Label and click OK.

The index volume label property will show the volume label at the time of indexing.

I did not know that. That smoothly takes care of the first part . Thanks!

I also found the "Omit Result filter" which is wonderful for blocking files and folder.
I wish it had volume option there, and that would have taken care of the second part of my question.

I will consider an option to omit by volume / volume label.

For now, please consider the folder sidebar (View -> Folders)
Select all folders (Shift + click) and unselect (Ctrl + click) the undesired volumes.



You can also exclude volumes by volume label by including the following in your search:

!exact:index-volume-label:"my volume label"

This might be useful for a filter. (Search -> Add to filters)
