Hello,
I have these few external hard disks which I connected all and completed the indexing properties process and created an EFU file.
Now the thing is sometimes I have to disconnect them, so the indexing properties process takes a long time to be recreated when I connect them again, is there a way to use the EFU file to decrease the rebuild time?
your support is highly appreciated.
Update indexing properties in Database from EFU file
Re: Update indexing properties in Database from EFU file
Please try removing your volumes as NTFS/Folder indexes and adding your EFU file to your index:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the NTFS tab on the left.
- Uncheck Automatically add new fixed volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically add new removable volumes.
- Uncheck Automatically remove offline volumes.
- For each removable volume in the NTFS list:
- Uncheck Include in database.
- Click the Folders tab on the left.
- For each removable volume in the folder list:
- Click Remove.
- Click the File Lists tab on the left.
- Click Add....
- Select your EFU file list of your removable volume and click Open.
- Repeat for additional removable volume file lists.
- Click OK.
