Everything shows 895,390 copies of 2 files on my computer??

Post by xura »

I've been using Everything for a while, it's been working great. Recently however I have been getting this bug that makes it unusable. It will show that there are multiple copies of 2 particular files I have, 895,390 in my case. When I try to search up the file I am trying to find I get no results. Reinstalling used to fix this problem but now that doesn't work either. Here is what I'm dealing with: Image

I scroll down and all the Trackmania files turn into another random file on my computer:

Your database might be messed up.
Try to delete the database and start fresh:
  • In Everything, go to Menu:Tools > Options > General
  • Enable Everything Service
  • Disable Run as administrator
  • Enable Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything
  • Click the OK button
  • Exit Everything (right-click the Everything system tray icon and choose Exit)
  • In File Explorer, type the following in the address bar and press ENTER
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
  • Delete Everything.db
  • Start Everything
Are things back to normal? How long does it usually take before the problem pops up again?

More questions:
- which version of Everything?
- Is your E-drive NTFS formatted or is it listed under Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders?
