UDF file system support?

Post by ZhuMa »

UDF is the abbreviation of Universal Disc Format, which was developed by the Optical Storage Technology Association under the International Organization for Standardization in 1995. In Windows, its hard disk can also be formatted into a UDF file system through the "Format X: /FS:UDF /Q" command.
This format can support single file over 4GiB,and has more compatibility than NTFS/exFAT/ReFS. It can be applied to large file transmission of portable storage devices such as CD/U disk/mobile hard disk under various operating systems.

However, I found that the latest of Everything v1.5a can support indexing FAT series file system, but it does not support indexing UDF file system. I hope that the official can add support, thanks!

You can add your .udf (UDF formatted device) as a Folder Index.
So long as Windows can see it, I suppose Everything should see it too.

Thanks, but I hope to treat UDF indexing as a switchable option, just like FAT indexing.

(So UDF blow'd my other computer up!
Maybe.
I went to safely remove.
It said, busy. Closed an open directory I had to it.

It said, BSOD.
Haven't had a BSOD - ever, perhaps, on that system.
Hadn't had a reboot in ages, on that system (Win7).
Who knows, maybe coincidence ;-).)

I will consider native UDF indexing support.
Thank you for your suggestion.

For now, please add your UDF volume as a folder index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Folders tab.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your UDF drive and click OK.
  • Click OK.
