I suggest a context menu entry for a given result to place a shortcut to the file on the desktop.

This is a standard Windows option but is nested within other folders in the context menu.

A direct simple selection would be useful. I vaguely recall Everything provides some option context menu entries (I think).

You can do that already.

Right-click a file, (use the Windows) 'Send to' option, selecting, 'Desktop (create shortcut)'.
