This is really strange. I just updated Windows 10 to the latest version, 21H1.
Now, Everything cannot find anything on my C drive! I reinstalled Everything thinking that would fix the problem but that didn't work. What can I do to make it find files on my C drive?
Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
Well, for now, after a few attempts at adding the C drive into Everything via Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders, it finally added it correctly and I'm able to see files on my C drive.
I don't understand why I would have to add that now. Maybe the new update messed something up?
I already have two of my external drives added there. I had to do that because they're exFAT drives. Apparently, Everything has an issue seeing exFAT drives. My other external NTFS drives don't have issues being seen.
Should I remove the C drive from the entry?

Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
The problem still exists. As soon as I remove the C drive from the Folders section and click Apply, the entered file in the search disappears.
Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
Could you please send some debug output?
- In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/debug_log - From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Indexes tab on the left.
- Click Force Rebuild.
- Click OK.
---wait until indexing completes--- - Type in the following search and press ENTER:
/restart - Could you please send your %TEMP%\Everything Debug Log.txt to support@voidtools.com
Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
I followed your instructions but can't find the debug log file. I even checked my old posts to see how to get to it without using Everything since it wasn't seeing the C drive. I went in and enabled debugging but still couldn't find anything. Out of sheer frustration, I tried Everything again and now it works!
However, I still can't find the debug file. It appears it didn't generate it. Should I try to generate one anyway? Will it show what happened why it stopped working?
To search for it, I entered Everything into the search and selected text. The only ini file that it could be (there were old ones from when I first used Everything years ago) is one that is dated 3 days ago. Does that make sense? Obviously, I didn't generate one 3 days ago.

Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
I suspect Everything might be running as an administrator.
You might find your Everything Debug Log.txt in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp
Does the following search in Everything find any files:
"Everything Debug Log.txt"
Don't worry about generating a debug log if Everything is working now.

Re: Everthing Can't Find Files On C Drive
Sorry I took so long to reply. I checked back the next day and didn't see anything. Since then, I've been extremely busy.
I don't see the path C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp even after allowing hidden files to be seen. I would be surprised if it's running as Administrator because, under the General heading, I have 'Run as administrator' unticked.
The only files I see after running a search with Everything using "Everything Debug Log.txt" are two logs dated 2017.
