Cannot connect to server

Hi,

Great program, but I can't connect to the ETP server across my network. Please help!

I have set up the ETP server as specified with default ports and no usernames or passwords, i have also tried disabling the firewalls, but all i get is a message 'failure to connect'

I can see and ping each computer from the other in windows, so can someone please help?

Is the Start ETP/FTP Server checked after clicking it?

Does ftp://localhost work in your web browser on the same computer as the ETP/FTP server?

The attempt to connect could have timed out (possibly blocked by a firewall).

Please try changing the ports.

For example to change the ETP server port to 5485:

• In "Everything" from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the ETP/FTP tab.
• Change the ETP/FTP Server Port to 5485.
• Click OK.

Please make sure you change the port to 5485 when connecting to this server.

Thanks I got it to work, but only by using the IP address. Is there a way to do it with just the server name (LOUNGE)? ie both '\\LOUNGE' and 'LOUNGE' don't work

You should be able to connect with the computer name "LOUNGE".

Does ftp://LOUNGE:5485 work in your web browser?
