Internal+External monitor DPI difference causes blurry text

Post by user123 »

My internal laptop monitor is 1920x1080, scaling is set to 125%.
My external monitor is 1920x1080, default scaling is 100%.

When I open Everything on external display, it looks normal, all fonts are sharp and the menus aren't oversized.
When I open it on my internal monitor, every text inside the program is blurry, but not on the window title (which I assume is native windows UI generating it).

I already set Everything.exe to these settings:

Before this setting, the UI menus and text was too large on the external monitor, but it wasn't blurry on either display.

I recently switched to Windows 11 24H2. Are there any fixes to this?

Everything 1.5 does not support multiple displays with different DPIs.

Support for Per monitor dpi awareness is on my TODO list.

For now, please try Application scaling and adjust your UI scale within Everything:
  • Right click your Everything.exe and click Properties.
  • Click the Compatibility tab.
  • Click Change high DPI settings.
  • Check Override high DPI scaling behavior and select Application.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK.
  • Restart Everything (File -> Exit)
To adjust your Everything UI scale:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the UI tab on the left.
  • Adjust your UI scale.
  • Click OK.
