Show what resolution icons/thumbnails are currently displayed at

Post by Afevis »

Hi! I routinely work with tiny sprites/textures & being able to tell at a glance what scale thumbnails/icons are currently displayed at would help out considerably.

(Photoshopped examples of what I mean, added the dimension to the bottom-right.)

I'm not talking about seeing the dimensions of the selected picture (which is what that's for/is the default functionality already), I'm talking about displaying what scale the icons/thumbnail sizes are for everything being shown in the main window.

IE, Large thumbnails = 146 pixels, medium thumbnails = 74 pixels, ect, since you can adjust the scale of thumbnails dynamically with CTRL + scroll wheel (as well as through the view menu.)

I have put on my TODO list to add a status bar part for the thumbnails size.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Some ideas for now:
Create a filter for each thumbnail size:
From the Search menu, click Add to filters.
Change the Name to: 16px
Change the Search to:

Click OK.

From the Search menu, click Add to filters.
Change the Name to: 32px
Change the Search to:

Click OK.

...

The active filter is shown in the status bar.
Filters can be activated from the Search menu, Filter bar (View -> Filters), right clicking the status bar, filter macro or filter keyboard shortcut.

ctrl_mouse_wheel_action => Next filter.
