Preview content of .txt and .msg files

Showing large thumbnails in Everything tremendously boost searches for images - you can quickly preview contents of the searched image files. It would be useful to be able to do the same for text files and .msg email files.

Everything 1.5 Alpha will Preview .txt.

It probably does .msg too - if you have a "ifilter" to handle such.
(I'd imagine you do.)


(On my end it says, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or...".)

Without a Outlook client installed there is only one preview handler for msg files.
Works fine here in Explorer and Everything.

thanks, I'm on the most recent (1.5.0.1285a) version , but what I meant is this:

Previewing them in the thumbnails. Thank you for mentioning (Alt+P) preview pane, but it would be cool to have them all in a single window. It's not a problem in a multi-monitor setup.

Does it still install and work without issues?

I need to ask IT to install it, so I want to be prepared for any potential issues.

It installs without problems, and the registry key to change the text size still works.
I use it with Explorer, Everything and Total Commander, but I don't have many .msg files.
It still has the problem to grab the focus.

Thanks, maybe I'll stick with Outlook's own preview handler.

If only it hadn't the delay issue where it connects to the Exchange server first, before showing the preview even of locally saved msg files.
