I recently did a fresh install of Windows 10 21H2 on my PC and Everything stopped working. The window is complete empty and left corner shows 0 objects. I've tried changing the settings and rebuilding the indexes indicated in other threads but had no luck
Now I'm starting to wonder if it's caused by the OS SKU. I have the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 installed on two of my PCs, Everything worked on neither of them. I previously had Windows 10 Enterprise 10 LTSC 2019 and Windows 11 Pro installed on these PCs, had no issues...Please help
Everything stopped working since the Windows 10 21H2
Re: Everything stopped working since the Windows 10 21H2
The Everything Service was most likely removed during the Windows update.
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Indexes tab on the left.
- Click Force Rebuild.
- Click OK.
Re: Everything stopped working since the Windows 10 21H2
Nope, did everything above and didn’t work…
BTW, I did a fresh install not an update. Also just FYI, in Windows 11 or LTSC 2019, I always stored the settings data in installation folder, as well as checking the Run as Administrator option, not installing the service. It always worked fine until now.

Maybe Automatically index NTFS volumes was unchecked in the installer?
Could you please make sure your NTFS volumes are included in your index:

Ok this does work. Weird, I didn’t have to do this step before and it worked…
