Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
has a VERY large selection area
- any "whitespace" in the Menu / Tab bar areas
a double-click in "whitespace" in the Menu "bar", opens a new tab
a double-click in "whitespace" anywhere to the right of the '+' sign on the Tab "bar", opens a new tab
makes it very easy to inadvertently open a new tab
like when you're wanting to something like, provide focus
which often you would look to do in an "inactive" area of "whitespace"
you might say, well, don't double-click
& that's fine
except sometimes a single click, doubles
then, inadvertently opening a new Tab
to me, makes more sense that only the '+' sign (or shortcut key)
opens a new Tab

Re: Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
Hi,
I was not aware of these possibilities, but I find them very practical.
In the image, I have pointed with arrows to the point that is visible to me and
below I have pointed to the point with the mouse cursor which makes the point more visible and displays a tooltip.
As I often work with tabs, I would be pleased if these options were still available (default).
I am not against a new option to switch off these possibilities.

Re: Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
Not looking to remove anything, simply lessen the target area of a New Tab <click>.

Re: Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
I would also like to see an option for this case, as this would still give one the advantage
of not having to aim the cursor at the '+' sign (which is currently very difficult to see for me).
Btw, how did you manage to display the symbol next to the new button as a '+' plus button?
Re: Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
I was going to ask how you managed to not display the '+' symbol button .how did you manage to display the symbol next to the new button as a '+' plus button?
Win7 x64. Windows "Aero" is not enabled. My Win7 looks like XP.
Nothing special with graphics, Intel HD 4000 (CPU based).
And with that, I have a +.
Re: Open a new Tab (Ctrl+T)
Thank you for your answer.
To be honest, I don't know how I managed to do that or where I could change it
(this is where my hobby user side comes into play again).
If my suggestion is implemented, then it won't matter anyway.

It would be optional and off by default.
