Everything Users - a Slack Channel?

Post by ajaxStardust »

Hey there @void

Would you like me to configure the Slack i made for Void Tools, so forum users may interact there?
Here's an invite link to what's there currently.

Sadly, i must first remember which of my slack accts i used to create it! Sent from my reg email address (ajax...) but, oddly i did not that addr-assoc-slack-acct. Google OAuth2, you know?

in terms of moderation like a forum largely runs itself
I guess the primary advantage is that some interaction can happen in real time. also the "Canvas" feature is kind of like a whiteboard which can be extraordinarily useful in hashing out meaning.

i'm totally cool w/ moderating it for you to get it started!

i know a moderate-user level of Void Tools Everything software, but i do know an adequate about Slack to get that going.

If you don't like it, you can always disable it. no skin of anyone's back.
:)

I honestly was just toying around that day and thought I'd play with making that. basically, practicing config Slack. so i took the opportunity to try it.

(No idea what Slack is nor why one would want it.
But Slack does not like my browser, SeaMonkey, so I don't like Slack.)

My Firefox likes it :)
Isn't SeaMonkey in some way derived from Mozilla ?

(Actually, FF is a derivative of SeaMonkey.
And while SeaMonkey has stayed true, FF has, err, "advanced" :cough:.)

Firefox works flawless here.
No crashes and no strange effects.
Added a few plugins and like the performance and customization.
The same is true for the actual MS Edge.

For a "family tree", see Timeline of web browsers

Slack has a desktop client as well. Probably Electron powered like many things these days that want to be desktop apps and web apps at the same time.

It'll likely make more sense to if you experience it as the Microsoft Slack clone, Loop

I wonder if that will work in Seamonkey.
LOL
