comments for bookmarks and filters

Post by harryray2 »

I have some quite complicated bookmarks and filters. A comments section would be nice.

At the moment I'm putting comments/instructions in the name box which isn't practical.

I will consider a comment field in bookmarks.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Bookmark tags and keywords are on my TODO list.

For now, include the nop: (no operation) search function at the start of your search:

nop:"my bookmark comment"

Are you still planning a comments field in bookmarks?

nop: doesn't appear to work any longer in 1.5.

Thanks.

nop: appears to work here.
What does your nop: search look like?
-Please make sure you are escaping any spaces with double quotes.

Everything 1.5.0.1374a added a /comment search command.

Set your bookmark search to:

/comment My bookmark comment
My bookmark search

(use Alt + Enter to add new lines)

I'm using 1373 at the moment.

I tried putting the comment with nop: in the macro box, as I don't use macros very much, which used to work, but doesn't any longer.

What is the file list box in the new bookmark section? It's greyed out on my system.

Is there a possibility of just having a comments box that accepts multi line input in the add bookmarks section? when I put a comment in at the moment, if I paste, Everything will only accept one line, so I have to edit the text first in a text editor.
Also, is there a way of expanding the boxes in the add bookmark section.

Another issue for me is when using the bookmarks pop up from the menu bar, if I want to look at a directory, it's grey on grey, and can be difficult to distinguish between the main bookmark pop up, and the directory pop up box.

What is a 'bookmarks popup'? How can someone activate it?
