Typically when you are renaming something and focus to something else, the rename is committed. Explorer does this too.
It's a characteristic though that I never want to happen. If I focus to something else it's to check or grab a fragment of text to use for the renaming etc; I can't think of any scenario where you would focus to something else when you'd completed typing the name but failed to commit it, it's always a name you don't want committing yet.
I wonder if there could be (or is?) an option to prevent the name committing that currently happens
Cheers! David

Never thought about this before, but now that you mention it, i realised that annoys me too in explorer.

Restoring the label edit focus after alt tabbing or clicking back to Everything is quirky..
I will explore an option to do this.
Thank you for the suggestion.
For now, Shift + F2 to open the advanced rename.
The advanced renamer will stay opened when you alt+tab.
