Should a search <string> in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
(Now thinking, probably not.)
FAYT (find as you type) [aka, search_for_text_when_you_start_typing]
should a search string in 1 tab
apply to all tabs
such that if you search for 'red' in 1 tab
Ctrl+TAB
then, F3
would search for 'red' in that next tab ?
(in the browser world, i hate that FF no longer does that [i'm pretty sure?].
here, not so sure if it would be a benefit or not?
& here, a "tab" is more like a "window", basically.)
Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
Re: Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
I don't see any logic why a search should be replicated into other tabs.

Re: Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
Had to read it twice, but I think this is about Menu => Edit => Find (CTRL+F) and ... => Find Next (F3), NOT the search in the search bar ?
Re: Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
Correct, any of the Ctrl+F-like searches.
Not the searchbar.
Not the searchbar.
Re: Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
By default, Everything should have a separate findbar for each tab.
I've noticed showing a findbar in one tab shows the findbar in all tabs.
This is a bug.
I'm working on a fix.
I will consider an option to search all tabs with the findbar.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Should a search in 1 tab apply to all tabs?
Everything 1.5.0.1368a improves the findbar when using tabs.
Each tab should now have its own findbar.
Showing the findbar in one tab will no longer show the findbar in all tabs.
There's currently an issue with Everything forgetting the current find position when changing tabs.
