Get item opened in Everything to appear in recent docs list?

Post by randy »

After opening a document from the search results of Everything, the file does not appear in the list of most recently used (MRU) documents (in XP it's Start / Documents) as it otherwise would if I opened the document from Windows Explorer or its associated program.

Is there any way to have items opened from Everything show up in the recent docs list?

TIA for any help.

Most files are added to the recent documents list when you run them from Everything 1.3b or later.

*.exe files can not be added to the recent documents list.

I have noticed folders are not added either..

RTF seems problematic, and I recall instances where .DOCs also didn't appear in the list... or maybe I'm confusing the two.

At least RTF, as I just confirmed it -- I opened an RTF from Everything and it didn't appear in the Start / Documents list, whether the RTF was changed / saved or not.

Everything 1.2 or earlier will not add to the recent docs.

Everything 1.3 or later should (appears to work for me) add RTFs to recent docs on XP.

What version of Everything are you using?

What version of Everything are you using?
1.2.1.371, I'll try the newer version.
