Right-click Doesn't Work

I don't know what's going on, but for some reason, right-clicking on any type of file doesn't work. I had a Windows update yesterday, so it's possible that it caused the problem.

I installed the new version, and it worked for about an hour and then stopped working again.

The issue could be caused by a shell extension.

Some shell extensions do no like running as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

Please try disabling context menu shell extensions:

• Copy and paste the following into your Everything search box:
  /context_menu_shell_extensions=0
• Press ENTER in your Everything search box.
• If successful, context_menu_shell_extensions=0 is shown in the status bar for a few seconds.

Sorry for the late reply. I checked back several times soon after posting but didn't see a reply. I've been extremely busy and wasn't able to check back since then.

So was the issue that you had Run As Admin set or was a shell extension interfering?

I'm not sure, but if it ever happens again, I'll use the procedure posted by void. I reinstalled about 4 times and then when that didn't work, I restarted the PC but that still didn't work. I then shut down the PC, then restarted it.

After that, it began to function normally again.

Of course, I did all of this before seeing the post by void.
