Network drives and Everything 1.5a

Post by ypaul123 »

Hi guys,

I've got a z: drive which is a network drive to my NAS (SMB)..
everything 1.5a doesn't detect it in the "network drives" section. I did restarted the service.

my everything settings:

when I add the drive to the FOLDERS menu, it does index it, but often after a while... when I try to search for a file on the folder, the application shows no files at all.

I'd appreciate your help on this matter.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Everything will be unable to see your Z: drive if Everything is running as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Tools -> Options -> Network Drives and Tools -> Options -> Folders use the same indexing method.

Does the issue persist?

Please try a search for:

z:

Are any files shown?

Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure these files are not excluded from Tools -> Options -> Exclude.

If no files are still shown, what is shown under Tools -> Debug -> Statistics?
