* It would be handy if when the folder sidebar isn't open, you could drag a file off the left hand side and the sidebar would pop open (before you've released), set to the folder of the file you dragged.
* You could then either abort the drag (leaving the sidebar popped open), drop the item in a close-by folder to move the item, or drop it on the title (equivalent to aborting the drag obviously).

Re: Drag off left margin - opens folder sidebar
I will consider an option to temporarily show the folders sidebar when dragging to the side.
Thank you for the suggestion.
I will also consider an "Explore in Everything" context menu item when right-click drag-dropping onto Everything.
For now, there is Shift + right click -> Parent Folder -> Explore in Everything.
A middle button action to explore is planned.
To set a keyboard shortcut to explore the current item:

Re: Drag off left margin - opens folder sidebar
Cheers!
'Shift' is used to show a number of extra menu options.
Is there an advanced setting that would always show those extra options even without the shift? that would be handy to have, I would certainly switch it on.

Currently, no.
I will consider adding an option to always show the Explore in Everything context menu item.

Re: Drag off left margin - opens folder sidebar
Cheers, and interesting choice but it seems to work well - and for the other ones like clear Folder selector (now assigned to Ctrl-Shift-Space globally).
* For keyboard equivalents, I've now reassigned Ctrl-Enter to "File - Explore in Everything" and Shift-Ctrl-Enter to Open Path (in Explorer) which had been Ctrl-Enter. With Explorer becoming less and less useful (mainly just for creating empty text files now!) it may be at some point you'll want to make this configuration the default.
* For 'Explore in Everything' context menu, this appears on folder lines but I think you'd probably want it to appear on files too, which it currently doesn't.
* For the 'Omit Extension' and 'Temporarily Omit Extension' perhaps these should any way be available at all times under the Index menu and also when you right-click the Extension heading. It may be any other useful ones could appear there too.

Re: Drag off left margin - opens folder sidebar
^ I've just noticed the 'Omit' items are on the File menu rather than the index. I wonder if they would be better as a Submenu of items?
Re: Drag off left margin - opens folder sidebar
I will consider an item submenu under the Index menu.
