"Exact search phrase"

Post by nagan »

If "" Exact search phrase is supposed to return a complete word like Ctrl + B would ,it does not. In fact words abc and "abc" return the same number of objects.

Ctrl+B or for that matter any toggle does not get annulled on pressing the close "x". Can Everything display the toggle states in the status bar a little bolder (what happens if the user does not opt for a status bar), put a message "Filtered" in the title bar for that are in a state of toggle.

A filter overriding masterkey which annulls earlier toggle states as an alternative to clicking them individually in the status bar.

Double quotes (") only escape white spaces.
They do not search for whole words*

Use the search modifier wfn: or wholefilename: for exact phrases.
Use the search modifier ww: or wholeword: for word matching (or enable match whole word from the search menu).

The latest beta will display the search state in the status bar.
Double clicking the search state in the status bar will clear that state.

The mention in help >> search syntax mentions it otherwise.

I am running the latest beta 645b. The request was based on that...

I think I meant to say they don't match whole words.
It's not really an exact phrase either, as it could appear between other text.
I will review the help text.
Thanks for the bug report.

I am considering the option to specify the search state for new windows, instead of keeping the previous settings.
