The About:Keys window provides a plain text list.
The user can make a cheat sheet, which are usually printed posters.
So the window serves the purpose nicely.
However, if the user wants to do a quick search for a particular hotkey or a particular function, the window cannot help him, because there is no search function (either a filter, or a CTRL+F dialog).
Desired: please provide a filter or search function in this window.
Feature suggestion: Allow user to locate specific keys or functions in the About:Keys window
Re: Feature suggestion: Allow user to locate specific keys or functions in the About:Keys window
Update:
I had raised this request based on the recent discussion in another thread.
But I found the answer in the very next post in that thread!
I am reproducing the summary from that thread:
1. Select Tools > Options menu.
2. Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
3. Use the Show commands containing field to search for any key or function
To sum up, the user is already able to search for any hotkey or feature within the Everything GUI.
Even then, if that same feature is copied to the About:Keys window, it would be great.

I am considering the stock Find dialog for the help windows (about:keys)
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Feature suggestion: Allow user to locate specific keys or functions in the About:Keys window
In what form would that be?
If I press F1 in Everything, it lands here.
I cannot imagine see how a search field would logically fit in that page.
Probably the users won't be expecting it there, either.
BTW there are several features in Everything that must be accessed by entering a specific text string in the SearchBar.
These commands are too complex for the user to remember and compose.
The user should be able to access all options through the GUI (program options, preferences, properties...).
For example, instead of typing "about:keys" in the SearchBar, the user should be able to see all hotkeys by clicking a button.
The most logical place for this button is the Tools>Options> Keyboard screen, as shown below:

A Ctrl + F or F3 Find dialog.
The same dialog you see in Notepad.
I will consider a Show all keys link in Tools -> Options -> Keyboard.

Re: Feature suggestion: Allow user to locate specific keys or functions in the About:Keys window
I see!
Yes, that's intuitive. User does not have to remember that or guess it.
BTW this was just one example.
There are many more commands that we have to enter in the SearchBar.
We only discover them whenever we are discussing an issue here at the forum, and then you tell us to enter some string.
All such strings should have a menu-based command.

Is this sarcasm ?Yes, that's intuitive.
To me it's not intuitive
Everything 1.5.0.1353a adds Ctrl + F or F3 to search within the help dialogs.
I am considering a menu for basic commands like:
File -> Save as txt...
File -> Exit
Edit -> Select All
Edit -> Copy
Edit -> Find...
-or-
Possibly a right click -> Find... menu item.
Re: Feature suggestion: Allow user to locate specific keys or functions in the About:Keys window
I genuinely use CTRL+F and F3 (and also SHFT+F3) in my browser on daily basis. (For that matter, I use them daily in other apps such as LibreOffice and Foxit pdfReader also.)
IMHO any user should keep these nearly universal shortcuts in mind (just as F1 is for help and F2 is for edit).
----
It's fantastic to know that CTRL+F and F3 are implemented!
