Possibility of Indexing File content

Post by luckychang »

Is there a possibility of having an option to index all the content of files containing text from popular extensions such as .pdf, .doc, .xls, .xml etc?

I'm interested! :geek:
Will this feature include the possibility of harvesting every word (as defined by Everything) in text form by such documents?

In my case I regularly examine every MSWord document, extract the text, and "do things" with it.

If Everything is doing that with PDF files as well, then presumably it must be aware of every word in DOC and PDF files.

I do many things with the word-text content of DOC files, statistical analysis being one task, concordance files another, hyperlinked trails a third ...

Thanks, Chris

Yes, Everything will use any system installed iFilters to gather all text from such documents.
