I have Everything V. 1.4.1.1023 (x64) on my computer. When I start the software, it predictably tells me to update 1.4.1.1024 (x64).
However, after downloading 1024 (x64) and installing it, the software my computer is not updated and still identifies as 1023 (x64). And of course, I get that error message again telling me to update.
Somehow, I suspect the system is conflicting with the software subversion number 1024.
Anything I can do about this?
Thanks in advance,
The Roach
Update fails
Re: Update fails
Please check if you have downloaded the x64 version and if you have the x86 version installed:
To restore your settings:
Please let me know if the issue persists.
- Please make a backup of your Everything settings in the following folder:
%APPDATA%\Everything
(this will expand to: C:\Users\<your-username>\AppData\Roaming\Everything) - From the Start menu, search for: add remove programs
- In Apps & Features, select Everything (x86 version) and click Uninstall.
- Restart your PC and reinstall Everything x64.
To restore your settings:
- In Everything, from the File menu, click Exit.
- Restore your backup to %APPDATA%\Everything
- Restart Everything
Please let me know if the issue persists.
Re: Update fails
Thank you, that helped. I was wary of losing my settings, as it took me quite a while to figure out what sttng did what... But now it's all OK again (And yes, I had the correct 64-bit version... )
