Details mode editing

First time poster so go easy on me. ...LOL... While in details mode I would like to be able to edit the information. I have added a tags column to the details of my images. From there I would like to be able to add or edit the tags while in this view. It's a real pain having to continually bring up the properties option and edit them from there. I would like to be able to do it directly. Is this possible or something that may be looked at in the future. Let me know if you need more information as you may not be able to understand what I'm getting at. Thanks for your help.
