Everything shows all files, folders etc twice

Everything shows all files, folders etc twice. The same file, folder etc appears twice. Why might that be?

Under options, index, folders I don't have any folders to search listed twice but I see two copies of the same file in my everything searches. Is there another solution? Thanks

Remove all folder indexing entries which are on NTFS formatted volumes.

Not sure I'm following exactly what you mean. My C+D drives are NTFS and external drive is ex-fat. D drive is my main storage drive so, if possible, would be something I'd want to use Everything for. Maybe I'm misunderstanding? It basically works on those drives but just shows two of the same file. If I delete one, the other goes away too.Thanks

So your NTFS formatted D:-drive is listed (once) under Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > NTFS?

When you select your D:-drive in the Local NTFS volumes list, is the setting Include in database checked?

If so: select successively Folders and File Lists in the left pane to check if your D:-drive is listed there too.
If so: remove it there.


Repaet for other drives listed under the NTFS tab.

Yes, that box was checked and it was listed in the folders. I took it out and now not showing 2 of the same files. Thanks!
