Post by goja »

Hello, i'm not sure the contact form on the website is working so i'm posting this here: Whenever i disconnect a removable device, (last beta) the "everything" app will crash.. hope this will be fixed soon..? Or maybe there's a fix... Let me/us know, thanks!

What version of Windows?
What version number of Everything?
Is the Everything service installed?

Please try running Everything in debug mode, what is displayed in the debug console when Everything crashes?

To show the Everything debug console:
  • In Everything, press Ctrl + ~ (~ is next to the 1 key).
If possible please send a crash dump.

Does this problem occur with the latest beta 1.3.1.636b?

Yes, that's why i'm reporting the issue, hoping you'll fix it (no update for 2months now). Another thing "auto include new removable device" option doesn't stay activated even after you click "apply" and "ok" so when you plug an usb device it's not scanned automatically, even after hours..!

Another issue is new disk not being analyzed when they're connected, i mean they're just not... Unless i manually do it!
What type of disk is being connected?
Is the volume NTFS on the disk that is being connected?
Does restarting Everything find the newly connected volume?
Another thing "auto include new removable device" option doesn't stay activated even after you click "apply" and "ok"
This issue has been fixed for the next release of Everything.
It keeps occuring, are you going to release a new version soon?
Yes, a new release will be available soon.
Or should i return to the stable..? :|
1.2.1.371 is the most stable build.

Here's the thing : When i connect my WD Passport drive, it's locked by a pass (internal encryption). After i unlock it, the partition appear, however everything doesn't detect it..!

What version of Windows?
Is the Everything service installed?
What Encryption software are you using?

Everything and your encryption software will need to run with the same privileges for Everything to detect the new drive.
Please try running Everything as administrator or running the Everything service.
