as of late my EVERYTHING always hangs up, will not react (or very slowly) and uses up quite a bit of cpu+ram (close to 2gb ram + ram varies up to 50-60percent)
any suggestions what i can check ?

Please try the following:
Exit Everything. (File -> Exit)
In Windows Explorer, type in the following address and press ENTER:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
Delete your Everything.db
Restart Everything
If the issue persists, please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:

- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.
