Let's say you want to find a Word file since you remember you've opened this document in Word, but don't remember where the file is.
Now, it's possible to add the full list of file extensions associated with Word as a list, and some of the lists are on this very forum like viewtopic.php?p=54732#p54732
But it's a tedious exercise, especially for less common apps
It would be great if instead of trying to add/adjust the full list of file extensions that an app uses, you could ask Everything to read the system's file associations database, which is already prefilled with a bunch of lists, and is also dynamic, so reflects changes made by the user, and then you could add an app:Word modifier (or have a drop-down searchable menu where you currently have audio/video/... or use whatever other better UI is) to find your Word document
Search by app, get ext→app list from file associations database
Re: Search by app, get ext→app list from file associations database
I will consider an app: search function to search by associated program.
