Filterbar vs View, Filters - the advantages

As far as I can see, "View, Filters" and "View, Filter bar" are two avenues to the same data.
In both views I see built-in filters (Document, Executable, Picture) and see, too, my very first filter "My Uppercase Search".
To my mind the Filter bar has the advantage because it consumes less screen space, coming into use only when a new filter is required.
Comments?
I'm particularly interested in the advantages (if any) of View Filters

Thanks, Chris

(Heh. Never knew View | Filters even existed.)

First thought... don't care for it (in a general sense).

So... I happened to have this search open,
C:\out\recylererer\X\ parents:4
.
And I start clicking (or arrow-key) down the columns.
And Everything shows 33 items.
Audio, 0.
Compressed, 2.
Doc, 3.
Exe, 3.
Folder, 2...

And with that, I say to myself, hmm... maybe some potential?
In particular when I might only want to see a particular data type?

Ordinarily, or as it was, I simply had all 33 items listed, & looked, & found what I needed.
Potentially, I might use something like this if I had need to look for various filtered file-types, eh...?

I'd have to mess with it more, in real situations & see how it pans out...

Some users have locations stored as filters.

For example:

"C:\Program Files\Everything\"
"C:\Program Files\"
C:\Windows\
"C:\Program Files\" | C:\windows\

The filter sidebar might be useful for quickly limiting the search to a specific list of folders.

The filter sidebar only requires a single click.
Activating a filter from the filter bar, Search menu or statusbar requires two clicks.

The filter sidebar might be useful if you change the active filter often.

Thank you Void. I have borrowed this text for one of my examples (let me know when you want it returned :D )

Your suggestion mirrors for my thoughts. During the day I might spend time on four different tasks or projects, each one sitting in its own folder.
A series of filters that allow me to switch quickly to a different project is an ideal use for the filter sidebar.
Cheers, Chris
