My old laptop just died, and the replacement came with Windows 8, which I'm not too fond of.
I should mention that I used Everything on the old drive and couldn't live without it.
I have 3 NTFS external drives on the new laptop (one is the hard drive from the old Vista laptop), and Everything indexes them just fine.
However, Everything won't index my new C: drive, even though it is NTFS. There are no disk problems that I could find. Is Windows 8's file search getting in the way?
Thanks!
Why won't Everything index my NTFS C: drive?
Re: Why won't Everything index my NTFS C: drive?
Make sure Everything has administrative privileges to index C:
Administrative privileges are not required for the external drives on Windows 8.
To run Everything as administrator on Windows 8:
Install the latest beta with the Everything service.

Hey, installing the beta with the service worked!
Now there's another thing to love about Everything... responsive support!
Say hi to Mrs. Void for me.
