In addition to the drives local to my PC I have a TrueNAS fileserver with ~55TB of storage, much of which is provided to my Windows 11 PCs via SMB3.
With Everything V1.4 and earlier I selected which of these network shares to index by selecting the folder in the "Tools/Options/Folders" screen.
In Everything V1.5 (V1.5.0.1338a at the moment) I now select the shares in the "Tools/Options/Network Drives" screen. However, they are still selected in "Tools/Options/Folders" - is this correct? Will I end up with double entries (I do see double entries once in a while).
Your guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
Proper Configuration for Network Drives
Re: Proper Configuration for Network Drives
You can use either.
However, avoid using both.
Indexing for both Folders and Network drives is the same. (FindFirstFile)
Monitor changes for both Folder and Network drives is the same. (ReadDirectoryChanges)
I recommend using Tools/Options/Network Drives as it's a little easier to manage.
Including your network drives under Tools/Options/Folders will cause duplicated indexes.
Please remove your network drives from Tools/Options/Folders.

Re: Proper Configuration for Network Drives
I suspected that, but, of course, I had selected both. I'll fix it.
Thanks! BTW - I think the 1.5 changes are great - I use it every day and it's really good.
