Remapping Server 1.5 Network Index not working

I'm trying to use the new Everything Server network index in v1.5, and I'm trying to get it to remap the file names automatically on the server side.

The documentation for Everything Server says the following:

• Click Everything Server under Plugins on the left.
• Check Enable Everything Server
• Under Users, click Add....
• Click OK to add the default (empty) user account.
• Set a Password (optional)
• Under Include only, click Add....
• Set the Path to the local server path, for example: D:\media
• Set the Remap to the network share, for example: \\server\media
• Click OK.
• Repeat for additional shares.
• Clients will only have access to the filenames in the paths you specify in include only, leave include only blank to share all files.
• Click OK to complete setup and start the Everything Server.

But when I do this, the client can no longer see any files.

So on the server, I could leave it blank like this

And then I see this on the client

But if I set a remap, like this

I don't see any files at all in the client.

This applies even if I leave the Remap To field blank.


Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you for the issue report easy,

Could you please try updating your server to latest build (1338 or later).
There was remapping issues with earlier versions.

I'm on that version already as you can see from the screenshots.

No, I don't. But I do have an Include only setting under the NTFS journal settings for that drive.
You might have a point: when I remove that setting then it works fine.

Why that should be so is a mystery. Is there some interaction between those two settings? It seems I can only use one or the other, not both.

It's not hugely limiting if that's the case, but there are times when it might be useful.
For example, to limit the size of the server-side index if there are a lot of files not needed at all, but at the same time wanting to differentiate client results by username.

No, they are the exact same list of folders (at least during testing, but I would like to get more specific per user).

No luck producing the issue on my end.

Could you please setup the server to remap E:\shares\ again.
Make sure the client is showing an empty list.
On the Server, could you please send your Everything -> Help -> Troubleshooting Information to support@voidtools.com

It's weird but I can't repro it anymore either.
Even when I add the remapping it's working fine.

I'll post again if it happens again as I add more filters.

The only time I was able to reproduce the issue was with a spelling mistake in my include only path.
